Frequently Asked Questions

  • Therapy is a valuable resource whenever you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected - you don't need to be in a crisis to benefit. Many of my clients seek support to better understand their emotional patterns, navigate life transitions, or simply create a more meaningful life. If you are wondering whether we are a good fit, I offer a free initial consultation to discuss your needs and answer any questions.

  • Our first session is a dedicated space for us to get to know each other. You will have the opportunity to share what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I will explain my integrative approach and how we might work together. By the end of the session, we will decide together if it feels like a good fit and map out our next steps.

  • All sessions take place via a secure, GDPR-compliant, and certified video platform (Webprax) to ensure the highest standards of privacy and data protection. You simply need a stable internet connection, a private space, and a device with a camera and microphone. This format offers the clinical depth of in-person therapy with the convenience of being in your own comfortable environment.

  • Yes. Extensive clinical research has consistently shown that online therapy is just as effective as traditional in-person sessions for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.

  • Standard individual sessions are 50 minutes long. Initially, meeting once a week is recommended to build momentum and a strong therapeutic alliance, though we can adjust the frequency based on your specific needs and progress.

  • I provide evidence-based, integrative therapy. This means I don't use a "one-size-fits-all" model. Instead, I combine my background in Neuropsychology with proven methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We work on both understanding the neurological "why" behind your feelings and developing practical tools for change.

  • I am a licensed Psychological Psychotherapist (psychologische Psychotherapeutin, Approbation) having completed my postgraduate clinical training and my state examination with the highest distinction (1.0). I also hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Neuropsychology from Maastricht University and have over 2,000 hours of clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

    • Psychological Psychotherapist: This is a protected title in Germany. It requires a university degree in psychology followed by several years of intensive postgraduate clinical training and a state examination (Approbation). As a licensed psychotherapist, one is legally authorized to diagnose and treat mental health disorders using evidence-based scientific methods.

    • Psychologist: This title refers to someone who has completed a university degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in Psychology. While they are experts in human behavior and research, a psychologist without 'Approbation' is not licensed to treat mental illnesses in a clinical setting.

    • Coach: Coaching is focused on specific life goals, performance, or personal development for people who are generally not experiencing clinical levels of distress. The term 'Coach' is not a protected title, meaning it does not require a specific degree or state license.
